Professor Lyndell Lim is a distinguished ophthalmologist specializing in uveitis and medical retina. She currently serves as the Head of Uveitis and Retinal Vascular Disease Research at the Centre for Eye Research Australia (CERA) and is the Chief Medical Officer of Cerulea Clinical Trials.  Professor Lim completed her medical degree at the University of Melbourne and her ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. She further honed her expertise through fellowships in medical retina and uveitis at the Casey Eye Institute in Portland, Oregon. Her research primarily focuses on ocular inflammatory diseases and diabetic retinopathy, where she leads numerous clinical trials aimed at discovering new treatments and improving patient outcomes. She has authored over 100 peer reviewed published articles and 7 book chapters in the fields of uveitis and diabetic retinopathy. Some of her recent work has focused on studying rates and risk factors for the development and progression of diabetic retinopathy during pregnancy in collaboration with colleagues at the Mercy Hospital for Women and the Royal Womens’ Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. She is also leading research in assessing the implementation of AI-assisted point of care DR screening in this population, and the impact of pregnancy on the management of diabetic retinopathy in the anti-VEGF era.
