Dr. Rey Tiquia is currently an Honorary Fellow of the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies (SHAPS), University of Melbourne. He is a qualified practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). He took his BA from Manuel Luis Quezon University, Manila Philippines, and his MSc and PhD degrees in History and Philosophy of Science , University of Melbourne. He has been an Honorary Professor at Shanxi College of TCM, Taiyuan City, China. He is author of numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters including " The 'Qi' that Got Lost in Translation: Traditional Chinese Medicine, Humour and Healing," which is part of two- volume book Humour in Chinese Life and Letters: Classical and Traditional Approaches (2011) and Humour in Chinese Life and Cultural Resistance and Control in Modern Times (2013) which were both edited by Prof. Jocelyn Chey who is a visiting professor in the School of Languages and Cultures, University of Sydney, and a consultant on Australia-China Relations and Jessica Milner Davis who is Honorary Research Associate in the School of Letters, Arts and Media , University of Sydney.
